What the free plans actually allow
Measured against one 200-student lecture. Most free tiers are sized for a workshop, not a cohort: Kahoot! lets in 10, Poll Everywhere 25, Mentimeter 50 across every presentation you run that month. Diaposi has no participant cap and no question quota.
Feature by feature
Competitor columns show what each tool can do on its best paid plan. The Diaposi column is its free plan, because there is no other one. See the free-tier limits above for what the others allow before you pay.

Built for the room at the back
A leaderboard rewards the students who were already confident. Anonymous participation is the only way the quiet third of a lecture hall tells you anything, and they are the ones you most need to hear from.
How we compared them
Diaposi is our product. Every tool on this page has a line saying what it does better than we do, because a comparison with no losses is an advert.
Competitor figures are compiled from public pricing and feature pages, August 2026. Pricing and features change often. tell us if something here is out of date, including in our favour.
Questions people ask before switching
It depends on what the free tier has to cover. Mentimeter allows 50 participants a month across every presentation; Poll Everywhere 25 responses; Kahoot! 10 participants. Wooclap fits a full room at 1,000 per event but caps you at 5 questions a month. For a 200-student cohort run weekly, all of those run out. Diaposi is free to use with no participant cap and no question quota.
No. Students join with a code or a QR code and answer from their own phone. Nothing to enrol, no app to install, no account to create.
Yes. Diaposi runs on the PowerPoint or PDF you already teach from: same slides, same order, nothing to rebuild. That is the structural difference from Mentimeter and Kahoot!, which are deck builders in their own right.
Different jobs. Kahoot! is a competitive quiz with a leaderboard. It is excellent for revision and for energising a room, and unmatched at it. Diaposi is anonymous by default and has no leaderboard, because the students who most need to say "I did not follow that" are the least likely to do it in public.
None that identifies them. Participation is anonymous by default, no student records are collected, no cookies are set, and the platform is built and hosted in Europe under GDPR.
No. Diaposi is our product, so read it as an argued case rather than a neutral review. Every tool here has something it does better than we do, and the page says so.
