I studied in four countries. The lecture halls were different. The problem was identical.
During my master's, I had the chance to study and work across Europe and beyond — different universities, different systems, different cultures. And yet, in every lecture hall I sat in, I noticed the same thing: a teacher presenting slides to a room full of students who were either quietly lost or quietly bored, with no real way to signal either.
The teacher couldn't know who understood and who didn't. Students couldn't ask questions without the social risk of raising their hand in a packed amphitheatre. The classroom was one-way broadcast and it had been for decades.

I talked to teachers about it. They knew the problem too — they'd lost count of the times they'd asked "any questions?" and been met with silence, only to discover in the exam that half the class had missed a fundamental concept. The feedback loop was broken. By the time a teacher found out something hadn't landed, it was three weeks too late.
Chapter 2 · The Solution
After my master's, I built the tool I wished had existed in every class I'd attended.
I graduated with a master's in September 2025, and instead of going straight into a traditional job, I decided to build. I had seen the problem clearly enough. I understood what was missing. And I had the technical skills to do something about it.
The idea was simple: give the teacher a live window into the room as they present. Not a survey after the fact — something live, in the moment, that doesn't interrupt the flow of the lesson. And give students a frictionless, anonymous way to say "I'm lost" or "I have a question" without the social risk that usually stops them.
I built Diaposi to plug directly into what teachers already do. No new workflow. No new tool to learn. You drag in your existing slides, share a code, and in under 30 seconds your classroom is alive with real-time reactions, comprehension signals, and live questions — all without a single student needing an account or an app.

Chapter 3 · Why Higher Education
Universities were the obvious starting point. But the problem goes much further.
Higher education is where the gap between what's taught and what's understood is most costly and most invisible. A student who falls behind in week three doesn't always ask for help. They sit through the rest of the semester struggling, and by the exam it's too late. Diaposi gives teachers an early signal system: not after the course ends, but slide by slide, session by session.
For institutions, the value isn't just pedagogical — it's operational. When a faculty can see, at scale, which concepts are consistently misunderstood across dozens of sessions, they can redesign their curriculum around evidence rather than assumption. Diaposi turns every lecture into a dataset.

Education is changing faster than institutions. Here's why live engagement isn't a feature — it's a necessity for the classrooms of 2026.
Attention spans are the new attendance metric.
A meta-analysis of 225 studies found students in traditional lectures are 1.5 times more likely to fail than students in active classes (Freeman et al., PNAS 2014). Students are in the room — but engagement has to be earned, slide by slide. Tools that measure attention in real time aren't optional extras anymore. They're infrastructure.
Teachers are burning out on guesswork.
