Mentimeter, Slido or Kahoot?Choose the room.

The best alternative is not the tool with the longest feature list. It is the one whose interaction model fits your deck, your audience and what you need to learn when the room ends.

Different tools run different kinds of rooms.

A quiz show, a town hall, a deck-building studio and a diagnostic teaching layer can all collect answers from a phone. That does not make them the same product.

What “free” actually fits.

A free plan is only useful when it works for your real classes, week after week, with every person able to take part when the discussion needs them.

Competitor columns show their best paid plan. The Diaposi column shows the current free product. A comparison where our product never loses would be an advert, not a useful decision tool.

A bright, colourful university lecture hall filled with engaged students and a lecturer.

Your deck is ready. Add the room.

Diaposi is built to keep a presenter carried by the interaction rather than interrupted by it, and to reach the half of the room that will not raise a hand in front of everyone. The layer goes on the deck you already have in under a minute, and it gains capability with every release.

The questions behind the comparison.

It depends on what the free tier has to cover. Mentimeter allows 50 participants a month across every presentation; Poll Everywhere 25 responses; Kahoot! 10 participants. Wooclap fits a full room at 1,000 per event but caps you at 5 questions a month. For a 200-student cohort run weekly, all of those run out. Diaposi is free to use with no participant cap and no question quota.

No. Students join with a code or QR and answer from their own browser. Nothing to enrol, no app to install and no account to create.

Yes. Diaposi runs on the PowerPoint or PDF you already teach from: same slides, same order, nothing to rebuild. That is the structural difference from tools designed as deck builders in their own right.

They do different jobs. Kahoot! is excellent for competitive revision and energising a room. Diaposi is anonymous by default and has no leaderboard, so a student can signal that they are lost without performing that uncertainty in public.

Nothing that identifies them by default. Participants join anonymously, without participant accounts, and the platform is built and hosted in Europe under GDPR.

No. Diaposi is our product, so read this as an argued case rather than a neutral review. Every tool here has something it does better than we do, and the page says so.

One presentation. A complete picture of the room.

Keep the deck you already use. Diaposi brings participation, live audience signals, AI preparation and session evidence into one continuous flow — before, during and after you present.
