Rereading slides feels like studying and leaves little behind. Slides are a source, not a method: turn each title into a question, fill in what the slide leaves out, and test yourself on the file. Diaposi Augmented Learning opens your own slides page by page, explains any page in simpler words, and quizzes you on the chapters you choose.
Why does rereading slides fail?
Because recognising a slide is easy and recalling it is not, and the exam asks for recall. After the second reading everything looks familiar, which feels like knowing. Slides are also incomplete on purpose: they were written to be spoken over. Reread them and you study the outline of the lecture, not the lecture.
What do you do instead?
- Turn each title into a question. “Types of memory” becomes “What are the types of memory, and how do they differ?”
- Answer it without looking. Out loud or on paper, then check against the slide.
- Fill the gaps. Where the slide has three words, write the sentence the speaker said. Your notes on the slides are for this.
- Test yourself on the whole file. A quiz on the chapters, not a reread.
How do you space the reviews?
Do the first pass the day of the lecture, when filling the gaps is still possible. Come back after a few days, then after a week, each time with the questions and not the slides. What you answer easily can wait longer, and what you miss comes back sooner. A spaced repetition study schedule gives the dates, and active recall gives the method.
How Diaposi Augmented Learning helps

Diaposi Augmented Learning opens your own slides page by page. On any page you can ask for a simpler explanation, another example or what you need to know first, which is how you fill the gaps a slide leaves. You can then quiz yourself on the chapters you choose, and your progress counts the time you actually spent reading, not the pages you flipped.

Frequently asked questions
How do I study slides that have almost no text?
- Treat each one as a prompt. Write what the image or the three words stand for, check it against your notes or the course book, and keep the written version: that is now your study material.
Is it enough to study from the slides alone?
- Only if they are complete, which is rare. Slides give the structure of a course. The explanations come from the lecture, your notes and the readings.
Is Diaposi free?
- Yes. Diaposi is free, and there is no paid plan today.
